Benalla Gold Cup was a "Great Day Out" on Sunday 5 October
- it is the biggest day on Benalla Racing Club's calendar.
Even bigger this year for the 100th running of the event with
$100,000 prize money for the feature race. |

had entertained the crowd during the day |

headed down the straight for the first time
in the 2306 metre race |

First place - Rhumb Line (number 11) ridden by Logan McGill won by a head in a thrilling finish to win the $61,000 first prize money plus the $3,000 trophy.
Second place - Doin'thehardyards (number 3) ridden by Michelle Payne for $18,000 in winnings.
Third place - Chantal Sally (number 6) ridden by Nicholas Hall for $9,000 in winnings.
Fourth, fifth and sixth placegetters split the balance of the $100,000 prize money. |
